Community care to combat COVID-19

Atimonan One Energy Inc (A1E), a subsidiary of Meralco PowerGen, recently teamed up with its technical partners to help fight the spread of coronavirus, or COVID-19, in various barangays in Atimonan, Quezon.

A1E worked with Delta Earthmoving, Inc., Dinamico Construction, Beton Bau Construction, Inc. and Rexsun Development and Consulting Corporation to give financial assistance distribute food to residents of barangays Caridad Ilaya and Caridad Ibaba, as well as to volunteers manning the checkpoints in Atimonan.

The company supplied personal protective equipment (PPE) face masks, alcohol and surgical gloves to the municipality’s front-liners.

It likewise coordinated with the Philippine Coast Guard for special boat trips to allow residents of Barangay Villa Ibaba to buy basic necessities in the town proper. The 42 barangays in Atimonan have no confirmed COVID-19 cases so far, but A1E  suspended just the same all site activities, and implemented a work-from-home arrangement, to protect its employees and contractors against COVID-19.
