Leyte beauty makes waves in costume tilt

IN HER first national pageant, Tacloban City native Samantha Kaye Avestruz started making waves when she became part of the top 10 in the Binibining Pilipinas national costume competition last weekend.

The 20-year-old model and blogger wore a modern Filipiniana, featuring stunning brown and gold details paired with a headdress and a golden fan.

She also has a soft heart for children specially those who are not getting enough food and are malnourished.

As a writer, the Binibini hopeful runs a personal blog where she showcases her poetry.

She is also skilled in photoshop and adobe illustrator, designing brochure for NGOs and other organizations.

Adding to her impressive resume, Samantha was a Literary Writer and Cartoonist for her School Newspaper and was an Intern at the Senate of the Philippines.

Samantha will take part in the grand parade of beauties at the Araneta Grounds in Cubao and will vie for one of the major crowns at the grand coronation on March 18.
