19 Nueva Vizcaya villages tagged drug-free

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—The Philippine National Police in Cagayan Valley recently declared 19 barangays in this province as drug-cleared and free.

The declaration was made during the visit of the new PNP regional director for Cagayan Valley, Chief Supt. Jose Mario Espino, in the province.

The drug-cleared barangays are Balzain, Kimbutan, Caralotan, Palabotan and Canabay in Dupax del Sur town; Poblacion and Cabuluan in Villaverde town; Ammueg and Salingsingan in Ambaguio town and Baan in Kayapa town.

The drug-free barangays are barangays Talbek, Abaca, Banila, Sanguit, Lukidnon and Biruk in Dupax Del Sur town; Ocapon in Villaverde town; and Pampang and Castillo Tidang Village in Kayapa town.

The public declaration was made by Espino and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency regional director Laurefel Gabales. 

Espino said the declaration shows the government’s gains in the war on drugs in Nueva Vizcaya and Cagayan Valley region.
