The Professional Regulation Commission has stripped cosmetic surgeon Hayden Kho of his license to practice medicine after finding him guilty of immorality, dishonorable and unethical conduct over his sex videotape with actress Katrina Halili.
In a resolution dated Nov. 20, the commission’s Board of Medicine said Kho’s capturing on camera his having sex with Halili not only constituted a violation of the required demeanor in the medical profession but also the doctor-patient relations because he was her physician.
“The board hereby finds respondent Hayden Kho Jr. guilty of immorality; dishonorable and/or unethical conduct and accordingly revokes his authority to practice the medical profession,” the decision said.
The finding was signed by the board’s chairman, Dr. Restituto de Ocampo, along with members Florentino Doble, Miguel Noche Jr., Edgardo Fernando, Mildred Pareja and Jose Cueto Jr.
Kho was also asked to surrender to the board his certificate of registration, professional license and identification card as a physician not later than 10 days from finality of the decision and to desist from the practice of medical profession, “under pain of criminal prosecution.”
Kho holds Certificate of Registration 0109399 issued on Feb. 27, 2007.
“The decision is a vindication for us,” said Halili’s counsel Raymund Palad.
“When I informed her about the PRC ruling, Katrina expressed gladness. She was happy that she received justice despite the money and connections of the respondent,” he added.
Palad said Kho may appeal the decision to the commission itself within 15 days from receipt of the board’s ruling. Roy Pelovello
