After hosting the highly-successful Survivor Philippines: Palau, Paolo Bediones is taking a vacatioin. He also announced that he’s looking for new projects, on or out of GMA-7.
“I already filed an indefinite leave of absence. My contract with the network has already expired. That’s why I haven’t been seen in Unang Hirit for weeks now,” he says.
At this point, Paolo wants to do a show which he personally likes and not just assigned by the management.
“I’d like to host a show with a format that I’m very familiar with. It can be a game show, talk show or another reality show which I find exciting. It’s also a cool idea if I’ll be the one to conceptualize and produce the show. I heard GMA is planning to do Survivor 3 next year, which, if I’m not mistaken, will be a celebrity edition. If they’d offer it to me, I’d be more than glad to host it once again.”
His present status gives Paolo the chance to explore other possibilities when it comes to his career.
“I have a cameo in Shake, Rattle and Roll XI. This is the episode topbilled by Maja Salvador and Janice de Belen directed by Rico Gutierrez. Acting is also fun. I did Walang Kapalit and Resiklo before and it was a great experience working with the likes of Sharon Cuneta, Richard Gomez and Senator Bong Revilla. This is one way of reinventing myself to stay longer in the field. I also enjoy appearing as guest in other popular game shows nowadays like TV-5’s Talentadong Pinoy and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. It’s a nice opportunity,” he explains.
While on vacation, Pao wants to spend quality time with his family.
“Actually, I miss them. It’s been sometime since we had bonding moments. I was very busy in the past months. It’s only my sister who I get to see regularly since she stays with me. This time, I want to regain lost ground, so to speak.”
Paolo also loves the idea that he can now engage in some self-enhancing activities, which he didn’t have the chance to do before.
“It’s a great feeling that I’ll be able to devote time to my swimming, basketball and gym workouts which had to take the backseat because of my hectic work schedule. Lovelife isn’t my priority as of now. Anyway, there’s my family who will ensure that my Yuletide season will still be a joyous and meaningful one. I’m okay with that at this point,” Paolo ends.
Unaffected by intrigues
Jericho Rosales is not bothered by some catty people’s observations that in his currently-airing ABS-CBN soap opera Dahil May Isang Ikaw opposite Kristine Hermosa, Sid Lucero always overshadows his acting especially during their scenes together. In the story, they are brothers who are fighting for the love of just one woman. (I think this is way too much…I watch the show regularly and Echo does just fine…even with Sid Lucero around…Editor)
“Honestly, I have no idea that there’s an issue like that between the two of us. All I can say is it depends on the viewers. But I’m glad to work with Sid. He’s a very good actor. Sid actually inspires me to do my best. I know that he takes his craft seriously. With him, executing the scenes right is not hard to achieve. I’ll definitely choose him over someone who doesn’t come close to his acting competence,” he says.
Meanwhile, it was learned that he was offered a role in Senator Bong Revilla’s MMFF entry Panday.
“They offered me the Lizardo role which eventually landed on Kuya Ipe’s [Phillip Salvador] lap. I turned it down since in the TV version, I played the protagonist. Kids still call me Panday until now. It’ll be completely different when I do Lizardo who’s the main antagonist.”
Lastly, he is being linked to Cristine Reyes. Reports have it that they went out on a date.
“We did go out but it was still during our Kahit Isang Saglit days and it was a group date. I won’t deny that I’m very comfortable with Cristine. We hit it off well,” Echo ends meaningfully.
