Toni’s first on-screen kiss

by Joseph Peter R. Conzalez

For the first time in her acting career, Toni Gonzaga agreed to do a kissing scene. This is in her latest movie Ang Tanging Pamilya where she shares stellar billing with former President Joseph Estrada, Ai Ai de las Alas and Sam Milby. Her lips touched Sam’s in one of the film’s highlights.

“But it was very quick!” she beams. “In fact, we had a second take because the first one didn’t turn out fine. Ha-ha-ha! In the movie, I am engaged to him and he flew from the States to formally ask my hands from my folks. It felt bizarre since I haven’t really done a kissing scene yet! ”

According to Toni, had it not for Erap, Ai Ai and their director Wenn Deramas, she wouldn’t consent it.

“Yes. For one, President Erap and Ms. Ai also have an intense kissing scene in the film. I felt that if the main stars agreed to do such a scene, who am I to refuse, right? Anyway, I had huge faith in Direk Wenn and indeed, the scene came out well.”

Many wonder how Sam’s kiss tastes like.

“I don’t really know! Ha-ha-ha! As I’ve pointed out earlier, it was quick. It’s not as long as President Erap and Ms. Ai’s kissing scene so there was no chance for me to taste it. I even hid my tongue inside my teeth,” Toni reveals.

Goodbye Rosalinda, hello Carinderia Queen

Rosalinda will soon be off the air, but GMA-7 makes sure Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana will still be on the screen. The new love team stars in the latest SRO Cinemaserye presentation titled Carinderia Queen which promises to show their versatility as thespians.

“Compared to Rosalinda, our new show is light and funny. Actually, we were still quite stiff during the initial taping days considering that we’re used to doing heavy drama in Rosalinda. It’s good that we relaxed, loosened up and eventually got to enjoy our respective roles. It’s a different genre where the viewers will see our comic side,” Geoff states.

How’s the feeling that Rosalinda is wrapping up soon?

“I have mixed emotions. I’m happy because we’re ending with satisfying ratings. The show is a success. But on the other hand, I’m also sad because I’ll be missing the whole team. We became one, big happy family in the course of the taping. I made a lot of new friends in the show. It’s really full of good memories.”

Wedding bells for Angelika

Angelika de la Cruz and fiancé Orion Casareo’s planned church wedding before the year ends is definitely pushing through. It’s going to be on Dec. 4. Amazingly, despite her busy work schedule for the afternoon soap Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit and checking on the needs of her son Gabriel, the actress can find time to address concerns of the wedding.

“Even on location, I still make calls to people who will have participation in our wedding. Orion is the one who does most of the legworks like going to the suppliers,” she says.

They picked Tagaytay as the venue of their wedding.

“Because it’s very romantic place and the climate is great there on the month of December. I’m sure it’ll be memorable.”

Among the big-name celebrities who will act as principal and secondary sponsors are Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino, Judy Ann Santos, GMA-7 executive Wilma Galvante, Quezon City Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista and Senators Lito Lapid, Jinggoy Estrada and Ping Lacson.
