| Lascuna fires a 67; moves back to fifth
By Adriano Flores The Philippines’ Antonio Lascuna slowed down a little with a five-under-par 67 in the second round to move back at fifth place with a 12-under 132 in the SAIL Open held at the Classic Golf Resort in India. Although this was Lascuna’s consecutive sub-par score, he was still eight strokes behind the tournament leading 20-under-par 124 of Thai Chapchai Nirat, who matched his course record 62 for the second day. “I’ve found my rhythm now. However, Chapchai was awesome again. If I could shoot in the low 60s again, there’s a good chance of making it to the top three,” said Lascuna, who was tied with Singaporean Mardan Mamat with a similar 65-67. New Zealand’s Mark Purser occupies second spot with 128 after a 63, followed by another Thai, Wisut Artjanawat (64-129), and Indian Gaganjeet Bhullar (64-131). Almost making his move up the standing was Mars Pucay, who carded a six-under-par 66 for 133 total midway through the $300,000 tournament staged by the Asian Tour. Eleven shots adrift was Artemio Murakami, who turned in a 68 for 135, good for 15th with six others. Jerome Delariarte made the 140 cut after a 69 yesterday. |
