| Donaire spars for 6 rounds
INTERNATIONAL Boxing Federation/International Boxing Organization flyweight champion Nonito Donaire sparred six rounds on Monday at his training camp in Baguio City and said he was feeling great. Donaire told www.insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports the sparring went very well. ?The power punch was there, the speed was there but what I need to do was to throw a few more combinations.? Donaire sparred with Marvin Tampus and another sparring partner that has been in the training camp for some time now. Considering it was his first day of sparring after coming back from a short break, Donaire said: ?My air is still there, my body?s not as sore and I?m pushing myself really hard. I am really confident. All I need to do is sharpen up my technique a little bit, setting up my punches.? The original plan was to go four rounds in sparring, but Donaire said he went two more rounds. ?I could have gone more but it?s too early so we just stuck to six rounds.? Ronnie Nathanielsz |
