Manila Police director Chief Supt. Roberto Rosales ordered six newly assigned policemen to do 50 push-ups for arriving late in yesterday?s flag-raising ceremony at the headquarters on UN Avernue.

The tardy rookie cops are among 60 officers from the National Capital Region Police Office on their first day of duty.

What got Rosales? goat was that the six were also busy chatting and texting.

?Next time, the punishment would be harsher,? he told them, adding that they should start on the right foot.
