| Fiji-Canadian mining firm seeks local listing
Siga Resources Ltd., a Fiji-Canadian mining company, has expressed interest in listing its shares at the Philippine Stock Exchange. Siga Resources financial consultant Anand Nagin told reporters that the company had selected the Philippines as the second exchange for listing its shares. Siga Resources, which has mining project in Fiji, is currently listed in the United States. Nagin said the company chose the Philippines for the secondary listing of shares because of its knowledgeable investor base, especially in mining operations. ?What excited us about the Philippines is its knowledgeable investor base, particularly in the mining sector. It is also evident that there is sea of capital in the Philippines. It is indeed the right place for us to be in,? Nagin said. Nagin said Siga Resources would consider investment opportunities in the Philippines once the company?s completed its dual listing. ?We will be examining all our options and investment opportunities once we listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange,? Nagin said. He said the company would shortly file a listing application with the PSE. Jenniffer B. Austria |
