| LTO exec injured in morning ambush
A top official of the Land Transportation Office underwent surgery after getting shot three times in the body by three still unidentified gunmen in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City, yesterday morning. LTO chief Arturo Lomibao went to see Metro Manila assistant regional director Camilo Guarin at the FEU General Hospital. ?I denounce the attack in the strongest possible terms,? he said in a statement. Supt. Gerardo Ratuita, deputy chief of QC Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said the suspects at 8:30 a.m. in Do?a Carmen Subdivision fired on Guarin?s white Mitsubishi Adventure (SHS-302) being driven by Roman Zuniega, while stopping briefly over a hump about 150 meters from his residence in North Fairview. Investigation showed that the suspects, with ages ranging from 20-25, witnesses claimed, took turns in shooting at the victim, who was seated at the back of the van; spent .45 shells were recovered at the crime scene. ?He was on his way to work when ambushed.
