Smiling even when there?s no love in life

Sunshine Dizon still has reasons to smile these days despite being loveless. At least, her career continues to sizzle. Apart from co-starring in the horror flick Sundo opposite Robin Padilla, she is also one of the female leads in the latest GMA-7 soap opera All About Eve, which reunites her with Iza Calzado.

?It feels good to be back on the scene with a bang. It?s like a back-to-back treat, a movie and a television show. Wow! I feel blessed,? she starts.

Since she?s paired with Robin in Sundo, many are curious if he tried to be the gigolo he?s been known for.

?No. I admit that he treated me very well on the set and made me feel comfortable but it goes for other girls in the cast, too. He?s basically like that. He has high respect for women. He?s my idol. I look up to him as my older brother. He taught me how to think positive all the time,? the actress said.

?There?s always laughter on the set. It?s as if we weren?t doing a horror movie. Apart from Kuya Robin, I also became close to Katrina Halili, Rhian Ramos, Mark Bautista, and Hero Angeles. It?s a pleasant experience,? she added.

The actress reveals that All About Eve is her fourth show with Iza after Kung Mawawala Ka, Encantadia, and Impostora.

?That?s why there?s the challenge to make our attack on the role different this time. Here in All About Eve, we have lots of confrontation scenes that will delight the viewers. We really feel inspired with our roles. Like mine is the bad one. I?ll make life miserable for Iza in the story.?

As for Jean Garcia, kibitzers are asking if they?re okay since her former non-showbiz boyfriend Jojo Manlongat is reportedly very close to the still desirable actress these days.

?Gosh! Of course I?m friends with Ate Jean. She plays my mother in the soap. There is no issue whatsoever between us so I hope people will stop talking about it.?

Sunshine admitted she is not in a hurry to find another love.

?Know what? I realized I don?t need a boyfriend just to be happy or complete. I don?t want to be in a desperate search because I?m certain that true love will come at the right time. There shouldn?t be any cause for alarm. Anyway, at present, I?m showered with much love by my family, especially my mom [former actress and producer Dorothy Laforteza] plus my friends. I would rather focus on my career in the meantime,? Shine meaningfully ends.

Proud to be in Eve

Jean Garcia admitted that she?s happy and proud to be in a huge production that also have in the cast Richard Gomez, Eula Valdez, Iza and Sunshine, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Eric Quizon, Alfred Vargas, and Celia Rodriguez.

?Who wouldn?t be?? she asked. ?I?m in very good company. It?s a tough task to gather all these people in a soap opera. GMA deserves a commendation for this feat.?

This early, many are already anticipating the scenes with Eula whom she worked with in another hit soap on another channel some eight years ago.

?Yes, I missed working with Eula. But surprisingly, there?s no difference whatsoever in our working relationship. It?s just like before. The excitement is there once again. And yes, viewers won?t get disappointed because we have confrontation scenes one after the other here and so does Sunshine and Iza. Everyone should watch out for it.?

Their fans thought it was already impossible that she and Eula would be in the same series again.

?When I moved to GMA, the chances got dimmer. But when she followed suit, hopes were rekindled. Now, we?re together once more and with a powerful cast. I believe that GMA just waited for the right project. All About Eve is perfect! What?s good about me and Eula [together is] we don?t upstage each other in our scenes. We?re comfortable with each other that even with just one look, we automatically know what to do. Besides, I?ve always believed that in order for you to become a good performer, you should know what ensemble acting is all about. Eula and I both follow this principle.

?There are scenes that are yours [she means hers, of course?Ed.] but there?s also some where you ought to blend with your co-stars. You have to rely on the actor you?re doing the scene with to make it really effective. You cannot do it alone. The key words are teamwork and rapport.?

Jean appreciates the fact that GMA prepared a separate billboard for her, Eula and Richard, saying, ?It?s simply heartwarming. Even if we?re surrounded with a lot of junior co-actors in the program, GMA made us feel important.?

She?s a favorite in the Kapuso camp. To date, All About Eve is her seventh show for the network. Prior to this, she did Majika, Atlantika, Impostora, La Vendetta, Dyesebel, and Gagambino.

?Perhaps, the management can see the dedication I have for the job. I?m so passionate about my work. This is my bread and butter. I have two children to support. Considering how hard times are at present, I can only count my blessings. I think, if you?re a straight and professional star, you?ll never run out of offers,? explained Jean.
