The World Bank yesterday said it followed the procedures in blacklisting four Chinese companies, three Filipino firms and a businessman, which it accused of collusion over a road project. It said it is leaving to the governments of the Philippines and China to pursue the filing of criminal cases against the accused.

THE Sandiganbayan has upheld the graft conviction of six former officials of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (now Education Department) and a trader for the irregular purchase of building materials used for a school building in Davao City in 1991.

An aquaculture company has prodded the Supreme Court to uphold its ownership of 1.7 hectares of prime land in Lapu-Lapu City, which it bought in 1988 as a fourth transferee of the property since 1970 from a homestead patent issued in 1936.
