Here we go again

By Bob Zozobrado

After that short Holiday respite, I’m back to chronicling fun events that dot our social horizon. Starting with this column, you’ll see less “talk” from me, to have space for more photos.

Charmed

Tiffany & Co. recently unveiled its new collection, Charmed by Tiffany, at Rustan’s Makati, hosted by Stores Specialists, and introduced by Rustan’s creative director Inno Sotto, once again making life’s moments extra special. The new boutique, with South African Mahogany furniture in a luxe satin finish and showcase cabinets in Macassar Ebony with brushed stainless steel detail, features sterling silver jewelry along with an array of iconic charms. The premier jeweler for the past 150 years, Tiffany & Co. is known for its designs that reflect the rich legacy of craftsmanship that gives form to beautiful memories and a truly charmed life.

Road warriors

With over 5,000 participants, this year’s Adidas King of the Road blazed new trails. Held in High Street at Bonifacio Global City, this year’s race was divided into three categories—5K, 10K and 21K distance running. Cash and gift certificates of up to P10,000 were up for grabs. Held in conjunction with Gawad Kalinga Expo and sponsored by 100plus, Nature Valley Granola Bars, and Adidas Personal Care, the Kings and Queens of the Road were Alley Quisay and Mercedita Fetalbero in the 10K category, and Bernardito Desamito and Jho-an Banayag in the 21K category. Now preferred by serious and pro runners, the adiSTAR Revolt trail-running shoes was introduced during the well-attended event.

Scent-sation

The grand launch of Estee Lauder’s limited edition Solid Perfumes collection was nothing short of spectacular! Fifty enchanting pieces brimming with elaborate details were exclusively flown in for the occasion. The brand’s charming marketing manager, Crystabelle Lee, was at the forefront of the evening’s celebration, which also featured music of the Philippine Opera Company. Supporting the cause of Bosom Buddies, that dynamic group of ladies promoting awareness of breast cancer, Estee Lauder continues to pursue innovations of the finest scents in celebration of the beauty and grace of a woman, and is available at Rustan’s.

Cebu-born pianist for Singapore Airlines. The airline recently flew in world-renowned, Singapore-based pianist Albert Tiu, to headline the opening gala of the 8th Metro Manila Community Orchestra (MMCO) Season, dubbed “Rach Plus3.” Tiu received his Master’s Degree in Music from the Juilliard School, where he studied with acclaimed classical pianist Jerome Lowenthal, and has won several major contests including the top prize in the UNISA International Competition in South Africa and the Juilliard William Petschek Award, resulting in a critically acclaimed debut recital in Lincoln Center’s Tully Hall. The airline’s priority passengers had front row seats to the event.

YOUR WEEKEND CHUCKLE:

Two boys were walking home from Sunday school after hearing a strong preaching on the devil. One said to the other, “What do you think about all this Satan stuff?” The other replied, “Well, you know how Santa Claus turned out. It’s probably just Dad.”
