Strong supporting cast for Tayong Dalawa

In the recent press conference for ABS-CBN?s Tayong Dalawa, Jake Cuenca, Gerald Anderson, and Kim Chiu are glad that they have a strong supporting cast that include Gina Pare?o, Helen Gamboa, Cherry Pie Picache, Mylene Dizon, Agot Isidro, Spanky Manikan, Miguel Faustman, Baron Geisler, Alessandra de Rossi, Coco Martin, Jiro Manio and Anita Linda, most of them have won trophies for acting.

?To date, this is my most challenging role on TV. It?s a big honor to be working with a bunch of gifted thespians. Like this early, I am learning a lot from Agot since most of my scenes are with her. One time, she told me to lessen my hand gesticulations when I?m delivering my lines. I listened to her suggestion and true enough, I noticed that the impact of my scenes improved,? says Jake.

?As for me, this is a dream-come-true. It is really one of my fondest wishes since I entered showbiz to breathe life to the role of a soldier. It was granted here in Tayong Dalawa. It?s a very good part. As the other David in the story, I am given various arias where I can show my acting capacity. I?m perfectly aware that I?m in a league of award-winning stars and I?m thankful because they are open to help us in doing our scenes right,? Gerald notes.

?I?m thankful to ABS [-CBN] for entrusting me this serious role. This is quite a departure from my usual cutie-cutie characters. It?s my first adult role and I?m blessed to share the screen with some of the industry?s finest artists. So far, most of my scenes are with my family in the story: Tito Spanky, Jiro, Mylene and Tita Anita. They are all splendid.

?In fact, I admit I still feel shy over Tita Anita. She?s already a legend when it comes to acting. Then, all my scenes with her are very physical, like she hits, kicks or slaps me. She always tells me that she doesn?t want to hurt me but I told her it?s just okay in order for the scenes to appear realistic,? Kim informs.

According to earlier reports, she?ll have kissing scenes with Jake and Gerald in the drama series.

?All I can say is for the viewers to just watch out for it.?

As early as now, many are already waiting for the controversial ?shower scene? of Gerald and Jake who play young soldiers in the soap opera.

?Oh! We haven?t shot that scene yet. I think that?s vital to the story since we are highlighting life in the Philippine Military Academy. We have already shot scenes in the dining and sleeping areas. We trust our directors, Ruel Bayani and Trina Dayrit in handling this particular scene. We know they will take very good care of us,? the two handsome actors say in unison.

In a star-studded presentation like this, a huge concern is equal exposure for everyone.

?I think it was already addressed during our initial story conference. The production team made sure that no two roles are the same. Each of the characters will have their respective aria as the episodes progress. So I don?t think that?s big an issue,? assures Kim.

Working with veteran and critically-acclaimed thespians not only challenged the three junior stars but inspired them as well to give their best in this production.

?For one, we developed discipline in the set. We are really focused in our scenes and make it a point to always come on time with our lines fully memorized. We are glad that all our respected co-stars go out of their way to help us in all our scenes, especially the difficult ones. Because of them, our passion for the craft further deepened,? proudly end Kim, Gerald and Jake.

Finding the echo of love in his heart

After the breakup with Heart Evangelista, Jericho Rosales is being linked to a number of girls these days, like his leading lady Carmen Soo in Kahit Isang Saglit, Baler co-star Anne Curtis, Eva Fonda lead Cristine Reyes, former girlfriend and perennial screen partner Kristine Hermosa, and lately, to new Kapamilya Karylle. To this, the talented actor-singer simply says, ?All of them are my friends but it?s just that. It?s because at this point in time, love life is not my focus. Everyone knows I just came from a failed relationship so I?m still in the process of picking up the shattered pieces, so to speak. There?s more I still need to do.?

Although he had no special someone last Christmas, Echo is okay.

?As of now, I?m doing well on my own. I know it will take time before I get into a serious relationship again. I hope that the next girl who will come into my life will be more patient and understanding of me.?

Career-wise, the hunky actor is obviously on the upswing. After his successful soap opera Kahit Isang Saglit, he received very good reviews for Baler which romped off with most of the awards in the recently concluded 34th Metro Manila Film Festival. Even though he didn?t bring home the Best Actor plum, Jericho is still happy and proud with the movie?s turnout.

?Actually, just knowing that we delivered a quality film for the viewers is already a source of pride on my part. I?m definitely proud of my work in Baler. You know my viewpoint now when it comes to doing films is different. It?s not enough that the project will just tickle the fancy of the viewers. In short, I?m more particular now with quality.

?I see it as a way of giving back to my audience who catapulted me to wherever I am now. Through the years, they?ve been supportive of all my endeavors in the ?biz. So I feel responsible to give them worthy projects that are indicative of my maturity as an actor,? Echo says.

Paolo?s new squeeze

Paolo Contis? new squeeze is EB Babe Lian Paz. That?s what the rumor mill says.

The two were allegedly seen in Boracay during the long Christmas break and were very sweet to each other. The grapevine has it that they were also together in Macau for a short vacation. It can be remembered that it was on the first week of December last year when news of Paolo?s breakup with Isabel Oli came out.

Interestingly, if it appears that Pao has successfully moved on, the same can?t be said of Isabel. According to reports, when asked about Paolo and Lian, the statuesque beauty didn?t want to say anything because she admitted that she?s still in the healing process and that she hasn?t fully recovered from the breakup with her former boyfriend.
