House speeds up cha-cha process

The House of Representatives will hold its plenary debate on Charter revisions any day this month or earlier than scheduled to give itself a leeway to petition the Supreme Court for a ruling on whether or not Congress can rewrite the Constitution like it would amend an ordinary bill.

Drugs chief: No proof of bribery

PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency chief Dionisio Santiago admitted before a three-member fact-finding panel that he had no direct knowledge that prosecutors received bribe to drop charges against the “Alabang Boys” even as a subordinate claimed an informant had confirmed the allegations.

Gordon forming own party

INSISTING that he remains an independent and not a member of any administration party, Senator Richard Gordon is building up a base for “Bagumbayan Movement” which will be the vehicle for his presidential plans.
