| 108 fake Honda motorcycles seized
The National Bureau of Investigation yesterday announced the confiscation of 108 fake Honda motorcycles and a number of spare parts worth about P85 million in separate raids. Acting on complaints of Honda Philippines, NBI agents served search warrants issued by Judge Reynaldo Ros, of Manila Regional Trial court Branch 33, on six establishments in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Dumaguete City. Elfren Meneses, Intellectual Property Rights division chief, said the case has been forwarded to the Justice Department. ?Honda hired the services of the Bengson Negre Untalan law office,? he said, noting that foreign brands are usually handled by local practitioners. Investigation showed that the motorcycles and parts?also bearing the copied trademarks of ?Honda, Wing Device and Wave??originated from China in violation of the Intellectual Property Code. In a statement, the bureau identified the raided establishments that would be charged under the code as Luzon Ram Cycles Inc., and/or Jboy and Abby Motorcycles Parts Center and/or Ramas Uypitching Sons Inc. on Km. 17 Aguinaldo Highway, Talaba VII, Bacoor, Cavite; Luzon Ram Cycles Inc., and/or Alcuin?s Cycle Parts & General Mdse., and/or Ramas Uypitching Sons Inc. on Aguinaldo Highway, Sampaloc 1, Dasmari?as, Cavite; Luzon Ram Cycles Inc. and/or Triple Z Motors Parts and/or Ramas Uypitching Sons Inc. on National Highway, Canlalay, Bi?an, Laguna; Luzon Ram Cycles Inc. and/or Ramas Uypitching Sons Inc.
