Residents of Para?aque City who qualify for work will be hired directly on Friday.

Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr. leads the city government in hosting the 18th job fair under his term at the city hall parking lot 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. under the supervision of Public Employment Service Officer Doris Marquez along with the Para?aque Livelihood Resource Management Office, which could be reached at its landline 820-652728.

?We hope to provide our constituents with more opportunities for getting a job because apart from providing individuals a source of income, it builds his self-esteem and character as well,? said Bernabe.

The job placement comes amid the dire pronouncement of Socio-economic Planning Secretary Ralph Recto that 800,000 workers risk retrenchment particularly in the manufacturing and export sectors.

Bernabe said various companies would be setting up their booths and hire directly those who meet their qualifications.
