Para?aque, US health care hold joint drive

Para?aque City has teamed up with Banner Desert Medical Center of Arizona, USA, for a humanitarian mission over the weekend for residents.

Mayor Florencio Bernabe led the activity along with a team of the health care organization consisting of physicians, nurses, and care providers at the Fortunata Gym in San Isidro village as part of Para?aque?s 11th year of cityhood celebration.

?We are grateful that Banner Desert Medical Center has chosen our city as the place where they will hold their medical mission and we will give our full support to ensure its success,? he said.

Dr. Olga Virtusio, health office head, said the city fielded 10 doctors and equipment such as weighing scales, thermometers, and blood pressure apparatus.

Bernabe said his administration would continue to support projects and programs that promote good practices among residents toward uplifting Para?aque?s socioeconomic status.

Banner Desert executives believe that the mission would help health awareness and health maintenance but also forge stronger relations with people from other countries.

Last year, Para?aque was honored among the Healthy Cities with Good Dynamics and cited for Creative Development in Healthy Cities by the Alliance for Healthy Cities during its Third Global Conference in Ichikawa, Japan. Vito Barcelo
