Box of passion By Apryl Galang Some people think that Valentine’s Day is overrated and commercialized and many would rather spend the day in a low-key manner. But the majority, especially the younger set, embraces Valentine’s Day celebrations, no matter how cheesy, with gusto. There’s no denying that this hearty season makes the people become more romantic. You just can’t help but feel love in the air, whether you have a significant other or you’re just single. As they say, there are probably more than a hundred ways to who your love and admiration for others. Jewelry maker Ciara Marasigan-Serumgard’s intricate, intertwined crystal creations are truly individual, mysterious labors of love. Recently, she reached an agreement with local patisserie Bizu to create a lavish treat for romantics this month. The partnership resulted in two creations made from the world’s greatest aphrodisiac-chocolate-and crystals. Bizu also concocted the ultimate aphrodisiac in a sumptuous limited edition chocolate cake. Milk, dark chocolate ganache, kahlua, crème brulee and sable crust topped with strawberry miroir finish and chocolate nougatine combine to create what is well aptly called “Desire.” Ciara, for her part, being the jewelry designer known for utilizing crystals such as carnelian, agate, hematite, sandstone, jasper and many treasured others, created a limited-edition, luscious and almost edible-looking bracelet for the fashionable woman. The unique design is called the “Love Cuff.” Together, “Love Cuff” and “Desire” can be ordered specially with equally precious and delicate Ecuadorian roses only for the season at all Bizu branches. The gift set, dubbed Passion Box, comes with a special donation card to the Virlanie Foundation. A Red Collection of Macarons de Paris is on a limited run this February and it will feature Strawberry and Balsamic, Raspberry and Chocolate, Pomegranate and Chocolate flavors. Bizu also highlights its other romantic and best-selling cakes as well such as the Strawberry Shortcake, Strawberry Chiboust, Babylon, Romance and Samba. Bizu chocolate truffles are also part of this love feast. All these gifts inspired by what’s most precious and delicate, delivered free of charge to the doorstep of the one who deserves all that love. Bizu is located at Greenbelt 2, Greenhills Promenade, Glorietta 4, and Alabang Town Center. For details, call 757-BIZU or 724-BIZU or visit www.bizupatisserie.com. |
