HP goes wireless By Dinna Chan Vasquez HP hosted an extravaganza dubbed ?Engage, Excite, Experience? at the Rockwell Tent complete with a generous buffet spread laid out by Bizu and a light-and-sound show with dancers and models serving as backdrops to the real stars of the show?the printers. Present during the launch were Jenny Sotto-Siquioco, HP Philippines country general manager, imaging and printing group; market development manager, consumer category, inkjet and Web solutions; Gizelle Villacorta, market development manager, consumer category, inkjet and Web solutions; Ed Kasunuran Jr., market development manager, commercial category, laserjet and enterprise solutions; Giovanni Sabio, market development manager, supplies category; and Jun Cruz Jr., market development manager, designjet/large format printers. Present during the event were guests from media and HP?s channel partners. ?For 2009, we are bringing HP printing to a whole new level,? says Siquioco. Interpretative performances demonstrated the capabilities of each featured product and the show began with a black theater that used light and darkness to create magical illusions. A dance number interpreted the benefits offered by the In-house Marketing Software while another performance showed how the HP Designjet Z6100 large format printer could translate ideas into real life. The company launched the HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One, a printing technology that produces quick and impressive prints without the wires, via a dance depicting freedom. The HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One is a compact printer that has Wireless 802.11g Wi-Fi capability and Bluetooth Wireless Technology but it can also be connected through USB 2.0, Ethernet, and PictBridge. In English, this translates to a versatile printer that works both ways?with or without wires, that is. Its coverage is within 300 feet, enabling printing capability within the home or office by removing the extra step of having to transfer documents to a wired computer just to print them. For the OC (obsessive-compulsive), it means not being encumbered with tangled cords. The printer can receive at a speed of 55 Mbps and the Bluetooth technology allows users to print straight from a cell phone or digital camera. That night, guests were asked to send their photos from mobile phones to the HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One and they got to take home the prints as souvenirs. But the All-in-One is not only about convenience. True to its name, it is a compact device that prints, copies, scans and has a fax function. It?s automated photo features, like the drag-and-drop convenience of HP Photo Gadget, allows optimized photo quality, reduced paper handling, and lesser steps, so photo can be printed perfectly every time. The printer also allows editing and last-minute touches can be done via its integrated image editor and scanned text can be converted to editable text through the OCR software. Sudoku games, notebook paper, calendar pages, checklists and more can be produced in an instant with the convenient Quick Form button while CDs and DVDs can be printed with unique designs. Thanks to HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One?s five individual ink cartridges, owners have to replace the colors that they need. With the optional high-capacity XL cartridges, they can produce three times more black and 2.5 times more color pages. The HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One is priced at P15,990.
